Running background

I joined my first track team at 8 years old and running has been a part of my life ever since. From middle school track & field, to being a 3- season Varsity High School runner (XC, indoor, spring), and a Division II college runner, but it was not until I joined a high school coaching staff that I felt truly fulfilled. I can hardly remember not being part of a team.

In high school and college,  I ran various events from the 400m to 6k. In my 20's, I set a goal to run my first marathon. With the help of my former coach, mentor turned colleague, we developed a plan. I ran a 3:39, just shy of a BQ by 4 minutes. From there, I began to develop my own marathon training plan. I dropped 16 minutes (3:23) in my second marathon which qualified me for the 2015 Boston Marathon. For Boston, I developed yet another plan and ran PR of 3:17! 

Over the last decade, I have continued to run races from a mile through a full marathon with my personal training programs. Yoga and strength training are also part of my regular routines. Most recently, as a mother of two young kids, I have incorporated post-partum care into my routine to rebuild and recore.

Coaching Experience

In college, I volunteered at my local middle school to help with their cross country team.  In 2010, I got my first contract with a middle school spring track & field team -working specifically with the distance runners. From there, I knew coaching was meant to be in my life.
 
I started coaching high school indoor and spring track & field in 2011. I worked as an assistant coach specializing in mid-distance and distance runners of all genders. I was able to coach along side my own high school coach(and my dad's too!) for many years - soaking up experience and having critical training conversations that helped to mold my own philosophies on training.
 
I eventually became a head coach for a few years and continued to train athletes in the mid-distance and distance events. I took a year off to dedicate time to my daughter, but continued to create plans on the side for my half-marathon training friends. In 2020, I was set to resume coaching at the high school, yet with COVID restrictions it did not happen the way we intended. I have since resumed in-person coaching with middle school and high school athletes. 

In 2012, I started to develop half marathon training plans for some of my friends. I continued doing this casually while pursuing my own marathon goals and creating my own training plans. My requests from adults and former athletes for help with training from 5k-marathons increased rapidly over the last few years. In 2013, a colleague and I created a Youth Running Club for ages 5-12, and I began teaching strength and conditioning classes at my local gym. While on maternity leave  in 2018 that I started to build on the concept of creating my own coaching services, and here we are today.
